After I came back from the trip, though, Ichitaro was still stuck in virtual reality! The teacher can't travel all of Com-Net to find him, but I bet I can.

Watching this episode again made me miss heavy-handed environmental messages; I really wish we'd kept that going well into today, especially as we now need it way more than 20 years ago when Yui first came out. It also fleshes out Akiko's character a bit more, and is one of the first episodes where you really see how headstrong Yui can be, though still ditzy.
